Hey! I’m Alex.
I’m an engineer, traveler, and researcher.
Based out of New York, I’m a Senior Consultant with the Cities practice at Buro Happold, where my work is focused on identifying and evaluating infrastructure opportunities to support multi-scale decarbonization of the urban built environment. Prior to my work at Buro Happold, I got my PhD in the Urban Informatics Lab in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Stanford University where my research focused on ways to leverage urban data streams to improve building energy performance in our cities.
Things I’m currently working on:
Supporting the natural gas to geothermal transition through the development of low-carbon heating and cooling networks across the US
Delivering energy strategies and asset mapping covering power, heating, and cooling at multiple spatial scales – ranging from building to campus and city scales
Leading Buro Happold’s internal research and professional development program, known as C:Lab
Improving my 2k erg time
Crafting new ice cream recipes
